WebI will be downvoted for this but the old 1k needles is only fondly remembered because of shimmering flats (where the barge is located). The rest of the zone was effectively worthless but shimmering flats was a small area that had lots of grinding quests that would easily get you one or two levels due to the very low drop rate of everything you needed.
