Web26 de oct. de 2024 · Mary Ainsworth was a developmental psychologist who is best known for her work on attachment theory. One of her most famous studies was conducted in the 1960s in Uganda, where she conducted a series of observations of mother-infant pairs in order to better understand the nature of attachment between a caregiver and a child. WebMary D. Salter Ainsworth was born in Glendale, Ohio in December of 1913 and when she was five her family moved to Toronto, Canada. Aged 15, she came across William McDougall's Character and the Conduct of Life (1927) in her local library and reading this book spurred an interest in psychology and a distinguished career.
